About the position

At Workday, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be an integral part of the GTM Enterprise Applications team, focusing on the implementation and enhancement of Salesforce.com. This role is designed for individuals who possess a strong understanding of business processes and methodologies, coupled with hands-on technical expertise in Salesforce. The BSA will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and the GTM development team to drive projects that enhance business efficiency and automate processes through innovative technology solutions. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. The BSA will engage in various responsibilities, including understanding business requirements, creating essential documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process flows, and functional design documents. The role also involves analyzing current processes, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions that align with business goals. The BSA will facilitate review sessions with functional owners and subject matter experts, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the BSA will coordinate system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring that all requirements are met and that the end users are satisfied with the final product. This position is not only about technical skills but also about fostering collaboration and communication across teams. The BSA will need to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business requirements, making strong project management and organizational skills essential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and embracing new technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of Workday's systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business partners to understand business processes, goals, and gaps.
  • Collaborate with GTM development team and other business analysts in the planning, prioritization, design, development, and deployment of new projects & system enhancements.
  • Responsible for understanding business requirements and creating documentation as needed; i.e. Business requirements documents (BRDs), process flows, business cases, gap analysis (as is vs. to be), functional design documents etc.
  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Analyze and initiate configurations and customization of the Salesforce system and participate in the change management and go live support processes.
  • Facilitate review sessions with functional owners, subject matter experts, and end-user representatives.
  • Coordinate and perform system testing to ensure requirements are met.
  • Work closely with project team during user acceptance testing (UAT); including tracking issues through to resolution and securing end user acceptance sign-off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with Business Management, Information Management Systems (or related field) or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years hands-on Business Systems Analyst experience supporting business stakeholders in various groups such as Support, Services, and Partners on a global, enterprise system.
  • Salesforce experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Service Cloud, Customer Support, Case Management, and Communities is strongly preferred.
  • End to end implementation experience including project management, issue management, communication, and change management.
