About the position

The Business Systems Analyst will serve as the primary point of contact between various stakeholders, including health officials and the public, while providing analytical support to improve systems and processes. This role involves collaborating with IT teams, conducting data analysis, and developing reports and dashboards to facilitate informed decision-making. The analyst will also maintain readiness for emergency management and incident response, ensuring effective communication and operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings with senior officials from HHS, ASPR, and SNS.
  • Analyze existing or proposed procedures, systems, strategies, and services; identify needs for improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate, and document requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop, configure, and test systems that meet business requirements.
  • Conduct data mining, analysis, and modeling from structured and unstructured data using analytics tools.
  • Extract insights to develop findings, inferences, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Translate analysis results into clear, actionable communications for decision makers.
  • Create, develop, and publish sustainable reports and dashboards that update with current data.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with appropriate organizations to meet program needs.
  • Research, collect, compile, and review qualitative and quantitative information for program decisions.
  • Assist with the preparation of system recommendations to senior officials.
  • Maintain continuous readiness posture by remaining flexible to respond 24/7.
  • Support emergency management/incident response functions as needed.
  • Perform other related research, analysis, and tasks in support of Business Systems Analyst Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and scope under stress.
  • Strong customer relations capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Power BI and Excel for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with emergency management protocols.
