About the position

The Database Administration Manager is a pivotal role at Hunt Capital Partners, responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of Portfolio Monitoring and Client Relationship Management software. This position involves managing database system improvements, which include customization, security maintenance, data audits, and the introduction of new functionalities. The Database Administration Manager will also create and maintain documentation and training materials, serve as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas, and assist subject matter experts in ensuring data integrity, testing system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. In this role, the Database Administration Manager will execute the strategic direction of the company's data strategy in collaboration with company leadership. This includes working closely with each department to identify information needs and develop data processes or reports that deliver the required information. Regular data audits and validation will be performed, with follow-ups for corrections as necessary. The manager will conduct requirements system reviews and proactively develop and modify processes to meet business needs and drive efficiencies. The position also entails managing the design, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of database system enhancements. The Database Administration Manager will collaborate with functional and technical staff to identify, execute, and implement upgrades or fixes to the database system as needed, documenting processes and results. Support for the database systems will include researching and resolving problems, performing scheduled activities, and recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. The manager will also recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and policy changes that require leadership approval prior to implementation. Additionally, the role involves writing, maintaining, and supporting various reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools, developing dashboards and reports for internal developers and special requests from investors.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, support, and maintain Portfolio Monitoring and Client Relationship Management software.
  • Manage database system improvements including customization, security maintenance, data audits, and new functionality introduction.
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials for database systems.
  • Serve as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assist in ensuring data integrity.
  • Conduct regular data audits and validation, following up with teams for corrections.
  • Manage the design, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of database system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical staff to identify and implement upgrades or fixes to the database system.
  • Provide support for database systems, including problem resolution and scheduled activities.
  • Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and policy changes for approval by leadership.
  • Write, maintain, and support reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for internal developers and investor requests.
  • Establish and maintain security and integrity controls for database systems.
  • Manage user access to database systems and train new users.
  • Provide support in the development and delivery of training for database systems.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in database systems and apply key technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in database administration and/or client support required.
  • 4-6 years of database system implementation and management experience required.
  • 1-3 years of project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and report writing required.
  • Experience with Pereview and Juniper Square preferred.
  • Expert skills in MS Excel including Macros/VBA required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the M365 Platform and cloud-based systems required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use a variety of software applications required.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
  • Strong understanding of database design, structure, functions, and processes required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in Information Security standards and practices required.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects required.
  • Experience with system migrations and system integrations required.
