About the position

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will play a crucial role in a high-performing technology team by performing process definition, requirements gathering, and analysis to identify and understand business needs. This position involves coordinating discovery activities, leading requirement analysis, and providing insights into business opportunities and solutions. The BSA will also engage with stakeholders to ensure that requirements align with company needs and will participate in solution evaluations and project scope definition.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process definition and requirements gathering to understand business needs.
  • Coordinate and lead discovery activities with business owners to gather detailed requirements.
  • Analyze requirements to determine system potential and impact on other business units.
  • Identify and quantify business opportunities through cost/benefit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Assist in defining and documenting project scope and business requirements.
  • Manage changing requirements and associated documentation.
  • Participate in solution evaluations, including third-party product assessments.
  • Design new solutions by analyzing requirements and constructing workflow charts.
  • Create process models to determine completeness of information and process components.
  • Lead individual or sub-project tasks affecting multiple business and IT departments.
  • Identify and document appropriate solutions for business process issues.
  • Facilitate light testing by developing and executing test cases to ensure requirements are met.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure requirements reflect company needs.
  • Monitor business decisions and manage requirements documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in business analysis.
  • Functional experience depending on portfolio is a plus.
  • Technical writing skills for documentation such as business cases and project charters.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with various internal resources.
  • Strong requirements gathering skills for elicitation, modeling, and analysis.
  • Project delivery skills including stakeholder alignment and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to maintain and update process documentation and models.
  • Collaborative skills to gather business requirements and optimize transition planning.
