About the position
The Business Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in collaborating with business partners and IT teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications for enterprise data analytics solutions. This position focuses on enhancing data architecture and reporting capabilities across various data platforms, particularly in the context of higher education.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business partners, cross-functional teams, and IT teams to gather detailed business requirements for enterprise data analytics solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements to design data architecture and enterprise reporting objects.
- Research and answer complex questions related to enterprise reporting solutions and other systems.
- Provide guidance and training to business stakeholders on business intelligence solutions specific to the project.
- Complete data discovery and profiling to understand source systems and data movement throughout various systems.
- Coordinate and perform system testing to ensure requirements are met; document test scenarios and track issues during user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot problems and work with businesses to resolve issues.
- Provide training, documentation, and support to business users.
- Identify opportunities for data quality and business process improvements.
Requirements
- Workday student experience; understanding of Workday student for testing purposes.
- Experience with Azure and Power BI.
- Strong Business Systems Analyst skillset.
- Ability to facilitate communication between technical and business teams.
- Experience working within Higher Education is preferred.
- Experience mapping requirements for data and processes across multiple systems.
- Proficient in data mapping and data definitions.
