About the position

The Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in this mission by focusing on system and business process analysis, new site implementations, data analysis, system support, system configuration, and end-user training for processes in their assigned business systems. Reporting to the Director of Business Systems, the analyst will collaborate with end-users and IT staff to ensure that best practices are established and utilized effectively, ensuring that systems operate efficiently and that users are well-trained. The Business Systems Analyst will apply their strong knowledge of assigned business processes to analyze, design, develop, and test system functions for various business areas. This role involves working closely with the Business Analyst team to implement ERP software in new MCC facilities, gathering detailed requirements from users, and developing functional specifications for new system requirements and enhancements. The analyst will utilize data and process analysis methods to identify opportunities for system and process improvements, ensuring that project requirements, timelines, budgets, and scopes are met. In addition to system configuration and maintenance, the analyst will conduct knowledge transfer and training for end-users, create and maintain documentation, and act as a liaison between users and the IT application development team. This position also requires performing data analysis and minor programming to support data migration from legacy systems, providing user support for business systems-related issues, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Apply strong knowledge of assigned business processes for analyzing, designing, developing, and testing system functions for assigned business areas to ensure that the supporting systems meet the business requirements.
  • Work with the Business Analyst team to implement the ERP software in new MCC facilities.
  • Work with users to gather detailed requirements and develop functional specifications for new system requirements, system enhancements and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize data & process analysis methods and tools to identify system and process improvement opportunities.
  • Configuration and maintenance of assigned business systems to support project requirements and enhancements for changing operational and business needs.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and training of end-users, including the sharing of best practices. Create and maintain system, process, and end-user documentation.
  • Ensure that project requirements, timeline, budget, and scope are being met.
  • Work with users to develop report requirements to support business processes and continuous improvement.
  • Act as functional and technical liaison between users and the IT application development team to deliver custom solutions that require more complex program coding.
  • Perform data analysis and minor programming to support data migration from legacy systems to standard business systems.
  • Provide user support for business systems related issues including researching transactional issues, identify root causes and drive resolution.
  • Administer and support applications as necessary (login, functionality, reporting, data integrity, interfaces). Maintain support log of issues and requests following service request guidelines.
  • Ensure all established policies, procedures and controls are enforced and followed.

Requirements

  • Experienced (2 years or more) in IT with responsibilities for ERP system configuration and support in a manufacturing environment.
  • Business process, system and data analysis skills with business application project implementation experience.
  • Experience with (but not necessarily expert in) Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Windows Terminal Servers, Citrix and database technologies.
  • A university degree, preferably in Information Technology.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, including critical issue escalation & resolution, root cause analysis / corrective actions, and leading with accountability.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience of deployment of Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems using modern methods.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical issues to 'non-technical' users.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly to management to gain support and buy-in.
  • English primary, Spanish/Portuguese is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in report writing and SQL query building is desired, but not necessary.
