About the position

The Business Systems Analyst will support a high-impact initiative focused on implementing a Paid Time Off (PTO) system within a leading organization. This year-long contract position requires technical expertise in finance ERP systems, particularly Workday Financials, and involves key functions such as system testing, end-user support, and process improvement. The role is critical to the successful execution of the PTO initiative, which is set to go live by April 1, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the PTO project to clarify needs and update business processes.
  • Document key requirements, decisions, issues, and risks for the PTO initiative, facilitating discussions to ensure project success.
  • Test system requirements and functionality, ensuring seamless integration with financial systems.
  • Develop and deliver operational reports to meet business needs.
  • Define, test, and implement updates to financial systems as required.
  • Maintain financial system processes, focusing on the PTO initiative.
  • Provide training for end users on new PTO functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user application issues in collaboration with SMEs, vendors, and IT.
  • Support additional special finance projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules. Knowledge of Workday HCM is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of business systems analyst experience with a focus on full-service ERP financial systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial systems analysis, including work in government accounting, financial analysis, and ERP system implementations.
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with government leave policies (HFWA, CARES Leave, etc.) and payroll practices.
