About the position

The Business Systems Analyst will join the Field Operations Services Information Systems team, focusing on analyzing, designing, and providing technical solutions for networking and system-related issues. This remote position requires strong communication skills and hands-on experience in system analysis, process documentation, and testing, while working cross-functionally to support and improve systems.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, gather, and document detailed business and system requirements from stakeholders.
• Document current ('as-is') and future ('to-be') business processes, identifying gaps, problems, and opportunities for improvement.
• Investigate and research potential system solutions to meet operational needs, recommending optimal approaches.
• Develop test plans, design test cases, and execute testing to validate system functionality and performance.
• Record system defects, track progress on bug fixes, and conduct retesting to ensure issues are resolved.
• Produce clear and concise technical documentation, ensuring transparency and accessibility for team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (9+ years in a related area).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in eliciting and documenting system requirements.
• Hands-on experience in performing as-is/to-be process and system analysis.
• Experience in creating test plans, designing test cases, and executing testing.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge and experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) or similar software systems that support transportation agency maintenance and operations processes.
