Job Description
This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S.
Seeking a Technical Business Systems Data Analyst for its Fee Schedule Compliance Automation team. In this role you will be responsible for the research, interpretation, and assisted technical implementation of Workers' Compensation and PIP No-Fault regulations and data applicable to medical bill review. Candidates for this position will be required to demonstrate ability to solve complex problems and feel comfortable with mathematical concepts such as quantitative reasoning. This role requires analysis of regulatory data and the ability to make well-informed decisions for the management and implementation of these data elements for our medical bill review software.
This position analyzes data from various sources to be loaded with automated processes. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration, and acceptance testing. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies working knowledge of medical billing and payment policy procedures.
Reviews and interprets jurisdictional data and guidelines pertaining to P&C medical bill payment.
Makes changes to data tables and system configuration.
Collaborates cross-functionally with Product Management, Support, Development, Quality Assurance, and peers to ensure system compliance and ease-of-use.
Other duties as the business requires.
Qualifications
2-3 years of experience as a Business Systems Data Analyst
Proficient in SQL
Mathematically astute in quantitative reasoning - can break down “story problems” into simple logical steps
Natural problem-solver and self-starter.
Ability to work well under pressure with deadlines.
The ability to translate business information into clear, technical requirements.
Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
Must feel comfortable working with and manipulating large sets of data in spreadsheets and text formats.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience working in medical billing and payment systems, preferably in the property and casualty business.
Knowledge of medical bill coding, terminology and industry-standard reimbursement methods.
Specialized understanding of specific property and casualty regulatory fee schedule legislation is desired, but not required.
Understanding of Medicare payment policies and algorithms.

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $25.00 - $38.00 hourly, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
