About the position

The Business Systems Enterprise Architect at RTX Corporation is a senior-level role focused on leading enterprise architecture initiatives within the Raytheon business. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining business blueprints that guide the transformation of business systems and applications, ensuring alignment with leadership priorities and strategic objectives. The architect will collaborate with corporate representatives and other stakeholders to enhance business processes, data readiness, and integration methods, ultimately contributing to the company's mission of providing advanced systems and services in aerospace and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the business blueprints and architecture expertise to guide the Raytheon Enterprise Business System strategy.
  • Identify business-wide problems and opportunities that affect strategic outcomes through business architecture practices and models.
  • Establish and implement Enterprise Architecture models, artifacts, standards, and roadmaps for business systems.
  • Mentor and coach architects to ensure successful implementation of IT systems adhering to architectural strategies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of Raytheon's business systems, applications, capabilities, and processes.
  • Consult with senior-level executives and business leaders to influence complex IT environments.
  • Support engagements across RTX Business Units, developing technical solutions for current and future challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience architecting and implementing large business transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of IT systems including planning, design, deployment, and operations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • TOGAF trained or certified with experience using the Architecture Development Method framework.
  • Experience with formal architecture modeling tools such as UML, BPMN, SysML, and ArchiMate.
  • Experience with ERP platforms like SAP ECC or S/4.
  • Certifications in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and negotiation skills.
