In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations to assist customers in completing their taxes using Intuit TurboTax Business products. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that our customers receive accurate and timely tax preparation services, and you will be expected to communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business tax preparation, with at least three years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for a minimum of 20 clients per season. You will also need to possess an active, unrestricted credential such as CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney. Additionally, experience in personal tax preparation and bookkeeping will be highly valued. This position requires a commitment of at least 20 hours per week during the tax season, and you will be expected to work in a virtual environment, utilizing video communication tools to interact with customers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and tax preparation services to customers using TurboTax Live Business.
  • Manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations.
  • Assist customers with tax advice, full-service business return preparation, and filing tax extensions.
  • Create high-quality customer interactions that instill confidence and demonstrate deep customer empathy.
  • Utilize government websites and professional resources to deliver accurate answers to customer inquiries.
  • Document customer interactions and maintain records of services provided.
  • Work towards meeting company key performance metrics and goals.
  • Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong business tax preparation experience with at least 3 years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season.
  • Active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
  • Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per tax year in a tax practice or retail setting.
  • Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers is strongly preferred.
  • Possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
  • Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Commit to a minimum schedule of at least 20 hours/week throughout the tax season.
  • Working knowledge of Circular 230.
  • Proficient with technology and solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
