About the position

The Business Tax Expert at Intuit is responsible for providing expert guidance and tax preparation services to customers, particularly focusing on business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. This role involves utilizing advanced communication tools to interact with clients, ensuring they receive high-quality service and support in completing their taxes. The position also contributes to the development of TurboTax Live Business, aligning with Intuit's mission of powering prosperity around the world.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations.
• Provide tax advice and full-service business return preparation and signature.
• Assist customers with product/software inquiries and tax calculations.
• File tax extensions as needed.
• Create high-quality customer interactions that instill confidence.
• Document customer interactions and maintain records.
• Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients/customers per season.
• Active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
• Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 tax returns per tax year.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Proficient with technology and commercial tax preparation software.
• Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

• Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation.
• Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers.
• Knowledge of Circular 230.
