About the position

The Business Tax Expert at Intuit is responsible for providing expert guidance and tax preparation services to customers, particularly focusing on business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. This role involves utilizing TurboTax Live Business to assist clients in completing their taxes while ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws. The position is virtual and customer-facing, requiring strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations.
• Provide expert guidance and explanations of tax and technical terms to customers.
• Assist TurboTax Business customers with tax advice and full-service business return preparation.
• Utilize video communication tools to interact with customers professionally.
• Document customer interactions and ensure high-quality customer experiences.
• Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients/customers per season.
• Active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
• Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 tax returns per tax year.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal tax returns.
• Proficient with technology and solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
• Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation.
• Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers.
• Working knowledge of Circular 230.
