About the position

The Business Test Analyst position at Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company is responsible for validating product features and functions of systems and software used by operations teams and external customers. This role ensures that solutions developed meet the desired functional outcomes of the business. The analyst will collaborate with IT staff and various business units to confirm that code meets approved project requirements and company standards for quality and usability.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain test cases, checklists, and test suites based on product specifications and compliance requirements.
• Execute test plans and confirm actual testing results align with expected business outcomes.
• Record defects found and assign priority to defects according to company guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and provide constructive feedback.
• Translate technical and user requirements into detailed test cases.
• Partner with QA testing teams to advance automation utilization and enhance the automated test library.
• Evaluate information from multiple sources and distinguish test requirements.
• Follow the company's development methodology (SDLC) to document test expectations and results.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products, processes, and technologies.
• Collaborate with customer and user experience teams to improve usability and user retention.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 3-5 years' experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of Annuity/Life products strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience testing and troubleshooting operational systems or processes.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of software testing principles.

Nice-to-haves

• LOMA designations such as FLMI are highly desired.
