About the position

The Business Transient Sales Manager at Choice Hotels is responsible for maximizing sales occupancy and rates by increasing business transient sales through proactive and aggressive sales efforts. This role involves collaborating with hotel operations and the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop and implement effective marketing strategies, manage client relationships, and achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a successful, aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, email, personalized letters, and direct mail.
  • Spend 80% of the time in active sales solicitation.
  • Assist in creating and updating an annual marketing plan.
  • Develop a quarterly action plan that aligns with the annual marketing plan and market conditions.
  • Respond to all Brand RFPs by the provided due date and discuss account and rate strategy with relevant directors.
  • Partner with Group and Catering Sales managers to penetrate top accounts and cross-sell catering and group room blocks.
  • Document and route necessary information on definite CNR/LNR accounts, including billing information and client preferences.
  • Forecast business transient production monthly and provide feedback on account/client changes.
  • Maintain an updated account list for the front desk and Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Verify CNR/LNR rate information during audits and conduct quarterly reviews of accounts.
  • Shop comp sets each season to ensure accurate rate data and maintain this information on a Google spreadsheet.
  • Review Hotelligence/H360 for comp set rates and corporate account production.
  • Attend trade shows and local events to enhance client relationships and drive new business.
  • Achieve all assigned KPIs, including sales solicitation goals and lead response times.
  • Prepare sales reporting needed by management or ownership.
  • Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing on special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite products and sales systems.
  • Ability to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Basic computational ability and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and lead departmental meetings.
