About the position

The Business Travel Sales Manager at Highgate Hotels is responsible for soliciting and managing accounts within designated market segments to enhance hotel revenues. This role involves developing a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, conducting sales calls, and maintaining relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
• Conduct outside sales calls 2-3 days per week to develop business.
• Meet or exceed set sales goals and operate within the established sales expense budget.
• Initiate and follow up on leads to maintain an active sales solicitation program.
• Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate market trends.
• Regularly contact existing accounts based on the Account Coverage Program.
• Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections.
• Assist in implementing special promotions related to direct sales segments.
• Prepare required reports in a timely manner.
• Conduct professional site inspections of the hotel with clients, showcasing key features and benefits.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of sales experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College course work in a related field is helpful.
• Must be skilled in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
