About the position

The Business Unit Finance Manager is responsible for managing the accounting workflow and providing analytical support to division management. This role ensures the overall quality of accounting and statutory financial compliance, overseeing various accounting functions and personnel, and supporting sound business decisions through financial analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting and payroll personnel and provide direction to different accounting functional areas.
  • Manage financial internal control processes across all business unit functional areas to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
  • Manage reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and review financial statements for compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop accounting staff at the business unit.
  • Provide analytical support to sales and marketing for customer pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Update and maintain division pricing model per corporate policy.
  • Provide the General Manager with financial analytics to support business decisions.
  • Manage credit and collection functions to maximize division cash-flow.
  • Ensure division compliance with company credit and stop service policies.
  • Manage accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers, and retirements.
  • Support and provide financial expertise during the annual budget and interim forecasting process.
  • Manage workflow and analytical review of all budget and forecast data.
  • Support financial audits and respond to information requests from Corporate and regional financial management.
  • Ensure completion and submission of financial filings required by contractual agreements and government entities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related accounting or financial experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management, supervisory or lead experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Lawson accounting software.
  • Advanced skill level with Excel.
