About the position

The Business Intelligence Manager for AMZL Learning & Development at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for leading a team of business intelligence engineers to deliver insights and analysis across the product portfolio. This role focuses on developing analytical solutions, managing metrics and dashboards, and automating data flows to enhance operational efficiency within Amazon Logistics. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to identify new BI capabilities and drive strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and own organization-wide analytical solutions including metrics and attributions.
  • Work with in-house scientists, product management, engineering, and business teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions for complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
  • Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.
  • Identify opportunities and key criteria to drive analytical reporting and business strategy.
  • Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective metric development and reporting.
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities.
  • Develop and drive best practices in data integrity, consistency, analysis, validations, and documentation.
  • Learn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience.
  • 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with ETL.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software.
  • 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience.
  • 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with customer segmentation strategies.
  • Knowledge of big data approaches and AWS technologies.
