About the position
The Busser position at PlumpJack Inn is a seasonal, part-time role focused on assisting food servers to enhance guest satisfaction during their dining experience. The role involves various responsibilities, including maintaining cleanliness, supporting service staff, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities
- Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely manner, deferring to the Server when necessary.
- Make the Server and Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- Extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive and thank them as they depart.
- Assist with room set-up and breakdown, including setting and decorating tables, folding napkins, and preparing condiments.
- Keep all water glasses filled at all times.
- Clear dishes from tables in a timely manner.
- Prepare coffee, espressos, and cappuccinos as directed.
- Clear tables of debris using a crumber.
- Maintain cleanliness of the floor at all times.
- Support bartenders in stocking, cleaning, and organizing the bar as directed.
- Reset tables throughout service efficiently.
- Perform all side duties as directed.
- Maintain proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment.
- Keep storage areas clean, organized, and secured at all times.
- Represent and market the PlumpJack Inn positively and professionally.
- Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack.
- Report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
- Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
- Adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of foods, service standards, and procedures.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
- Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Good team player with a customer service focus.
- Able to work productively with little supervision.
- Trustworthy and reliable.
