About the position

The Busser/Server Assistant at I.d. Delafield plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in the restaurant. This part-time position involves supporting wait staff, maintaining the dining area, and providing excellent customer service to ensure guests leave with a lasting impression.

Responsibilities

• Clear all used tableware, napkins, and refuse from tables to the bus station.
• Wipe tables, chairs, and clear debris and crumbs from floor areas surrounding tables.
• Assist wait staff by refilling customers' beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items, or clean/fresh tableware.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and orderly bus station at all times to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware, and utensils from the dish room and distribute them to each service station.
• Identify and explain all dishes on current menus.
• Perform other duties including running dishes, sweeping, emptying trash, and filling waters.

Requirements

• Basic math skills required.
• Legible handwriting.
• Strong customer service and oral communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, deliver, and serve from trays weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift.
• Ability to balance a serving tray on one hand while distributing orders to customers with the other.
• Ability to carry and set up a folding table to support particularly heavy orders.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• U.S. Work Authorization (required).
