About the position

The Buy-side Analyst position at Intrepid Investment Bankers involves supporting the buy-side advisory practice by qualifying potential targets through qualitative research. The role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and eager to learn about various industries and strategies used by private equity groups. The analyst will work closely with the Buy-side Advisory Team and will be exposed to both buy-side and sell-side strategies in a middle-market investment banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Intrepid bankers by qualifying potential targets through qualitative research.
• Utilize publicly available information and proprietary information services to identify target companies.
• Understand the criteria for desirable target companies based on given strategies.
• Assist in the design and preparation of marketing, client, and deal-specific materials and reports for projects.

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials with a 4-year college degree.
• One year of work experience in a business development capacity, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Experience interfacing with C-Suite executives is a plus.
• Process-oriented and disciplined, ideally experienced in using CRMs for lead development and prospecting activity.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
• Significant level of maturity and ability to work as part of a team.
• Self-starter willing to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding, and fast-paced environment.
