As a Global Lead for select Hardware Modules within the Purchasing team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing high-quality parts and services globally while ensuring optimal cost and timely delivery. This position is integral to establishing a robust supply chain that supports the production of vehicles that meet customer demands. You will be responsible for strategic planning, sourcing, business development, and ensuring supply continuity, all of which are critical to achieving the Ford+ plan aimed at enhancing automotive operations and securing Ford's competitive edge in the evolving automotive landscape. In this role, you will co-lead the development of commodity strategies in collaboration with Product Development (PD), particularly focusing on the transition from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technologies. You will be tasked with understanding upcoming program sourcing and key milestones to support successful launches. Your leadership will be essential in driving best cost initiatives, conducting market tests, and fostering productive relationships with suppliers. You will also work closely with PD to establish forward model cost targets and identify opportunities for competitive pricing through future Program Workshops. Your responsibilities will include leading global supplier negotiations, setting annual cost savings goals, and developing material cost roadmaps that align with corporate objectives. You will provide direct support to Supplier Quality and Material, Planning & Logistics teams to address part quality and shortages, and collaborate with engineering to explore alternative technologies or supply sources. Timely resolution of commercial issues will be crucial to maintaining production objectives at Ford facilities.
