The Ford Purchasing team plays a critical role in the organization by sourcing the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. As a Global Lead for select Hardware Modules, this role is responsible for strategic planning, sourcing, business development, and supply continuity, which are essential for achieving the Ford+ plan aimed at improving bottom-line automotive operations and securing Ford Motor Company's place in the ever-changing automotive landscape of tomorrow. In this position, you will co-lead and develop commodity strategies in collaboration with Product Development (PD), focusing on the migration from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). You will understand upcoming program sourcing and key milestones in support of launches. Your leadership will drive the process to source on time and meet program targets, working closely with PD to develop forward model cost targets. You will also be responsible for driving best cost initiatives through initial sourcing and design changes, leading market tests and design competitions, and providing feedback to valued supply partners on cost positions relative to the market. Additionally, you will support future Program Workshops to identify opportunities for achieving competitive vehicle pricing, work with Product Development to understand the latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends, and set annual cost savings goals by identifying commercial leverage versus design efficiencies and end-to-end supply chain improvements. You will develop material cost roadmaps that align with corporate objectives and ensure long-term viability, lead global supplier negotiations to support 2024 priorities, and provide direct support to Supplier Quality and Material, Planning & Logistics to address part quality and shortages. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a consistent flow of product into Ford production facilities and closing all commercial issues in a timely and competitive manner to avoid risking plant build objectives.
