About The Position

The Buyer II at Jabil is responsible for managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure that the supply of materials meets production demands while optimizing costs. This role involves procuring components necessary for production, negotiating pricing and terms, and collaborating with various teams to enhance supply chain strategies. The Buyer II will also analyze purchase prices, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with Jabil's agreements and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5+ years' experience in purchasing required, with resin/chemical buying experience preferred.
• Supplier negotiation experience.
• Contract and inventory level review experience.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• SAP or other ERP experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Knowledge of supply chain strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop supply base and Supply Chain strategies unique to customer or Business Unit Strategic materials.
• Support customer's business needs using standard processes and customized solutions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Manager to determine the best approach to meet customer needs.
• Influence customer's supply chain strategies to leverage those of Jabil.
• Support, execute, and provide inputs to improve Jabil SCM initiatives and strategies.
• Quote new and existing materials and negotiate to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities.
• Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
• Negotiate terms and conditions that protect the best interest of Jabil and its customers.
• Ensure execution of Jabil pricing and terms & conditions agreements.
• Improve sourcing options by adding Jabil preferred and/or strategic suppliers to customer's Approved Manufacturer's List.
• Analyze and project component purchase prices for financial periods in Standard Costing process.
• Provide input to determine Quoted Cost to the Customer that maximizes Materials Price Variance (MPV).
• Continuously optimize MPV by reducing the cost of materials and limiting unfavorable PPV/MPV.
• Collaborate with Materials Planners to monitor and provide feedback on suppliers' performance for continuous improvement.
• Work with Materials Planners to ensure suppliers support overall business needs of Jabil.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
