The Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs plays a crucial role in the pharmacy department, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role also involves completing monthly financial reports by utilizing resources from multiple vendors, ensuring that the pharmacy operates within budgetary constraints and maintains financial accountability. In addition to these responsibilities, the Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician ensures the proper storage of medications in the pharmacy, including maintaining cold chain custody for temperature-sensitive products. They are also responsible for maintaining a quarantine area for expired medications, ensuring that these are picked up by a reverse distributor in a timely manner. The Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician organizes and prioritizes work assignments for the pharmacy team, assisting in supervising the activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This position is vital in supporting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, which is essential for providing consistent care to patients. The Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician must be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess strong organizational skills to thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT).

  • Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation.
