About the position
The Buyer position at ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics involves supporting the Defense Logistics Agency by managing supplier relationships, tracking customer initiatives, and leading procurement activities. This hybrid role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, focusing on strategic sourcing and contract negotiations to meet program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and tracks customer initiatives and RFPs.
- Identifies strategic suppliers that align with customer Statement of Work (SOW) and objectives.
- Develop competitive sources for customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Maintains strategic supplier relationships.
- Acts as primary lead for supplier program activities; leading project review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
- Negotiates with suppliers to meet program metrics, operating budgets, and financial goals.
- Establishes milestones, and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
- Negotiates subcontract terms, prepares bids, processes specifications, progress, and other reports.
- Advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant project management experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. with the ability to pass a background check for access to the customer site, if needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Mandatory proficiency in Excel and relational databases.
- Prior experience with Government contracting; primarily Government Task Orders (TOs).
