About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet our company's operational needs. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to conduct root cause analysis to ensure the best pricing and quality for our products.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Manage the procurement process from sourcing through to delivery, ensuring timely availability of goods.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain management, to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
• Implement category management strategies to optimize purchasing decisions across various product lines.
• Perform root cause analysis on procurement issues and develop solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sourcing and procurement within a supply chain environment.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of category management practices is preferred.
