About the position

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing and procurement processes within the organization. This role requires strong customer service and data entry skills, and involves preparing, interpreting, and managing purchases according to procedural guidelines. The Buyer will work closely with vendors and internal customers to resolve issues and ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, interpret, and manage purchases according to procedural guidelines.
• Handle routine customer service complaints and comments with minimal impact on the business.
• Purchase, buy, procure, or manage inventory, materials, or supplies to meet department expectations and timelines.
• Provide expert advice in areas such as accounting, pricing, and vendor selection while adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Enter information into a database and run reports as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience in a related field
• Strong customer service skills
• Data entry skills
• Ability to manage inventory and supplies effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's Degree
• 5-10 years of experience in procurement or purchasing
