About the position

The Purchasing Buyer for Production Materials at Globe Tech is an entry-level position responsible for establishing and leading the procurement function for production materials. This role involves strategic sourcing, contract management, and ensuring value delivery across the production materials category. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders and suppliers to optimize purchasing processes and support operational profitability while gaining essential skills for future career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of overall production procurement strategies and translate them into action plans.
• Support budgetary goals and objectives by collaborating with plant personnel on purchasing concerns.
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Utilize competitive bidding techniques for best-value sourcing of production materials.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Work within program budgets to ensure material procurement supports operational profitability.
• Utilize problem-solving techniques to improve efficiency in production support functions.
• Lead concurrent projects across multiple departments to pursue cost-saving initiatives.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Monitor raw material market conditions to extract savings from suppliers.
• Utilize market metrics to support adjustable blanket contracts.
• Manage Plex inventory functionality related to all production purchasing activities.
• Support program launch activities, including assessing new suppliers and supporting quotation functions.
• Maintain delivery portion of the monthly supplier scorecard for active production material suppliers.
• Address supply chain deficiencies with the supply base.
• Assist in inventory problem resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0-3 years of related experience and/or training in purchasing or supply chain management.
• Experience with purchasing raw materials and production components.
• Familiarity with commercial vehicle and military procurement practices.
