About the position
Newton Design is seeking a Buyer with experience in the manufacturing and/or electrical fields. The role involves managing supplier costs, quality, and reliability, ensuring that suppliers understand the company's requirements and expectations. The Buyer will also oversee various operational tasks related to purchasing and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Managing supplier costs, quality, and reliability.
- Sourcing parts from existing vendors or finding new suppliers.
- Managing and scheduling pickups and overseeing company vehicle maintenance.
- Receiving parts in and creating shipping documents.
- Maintaining the RFID inventory control system.
- Scheduling material handling equipment for on-site activities.
- Coordinating outbound shipping and kitting parts for assemblies.
- Ensuring overall warehouse organization and cleanliness.
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Nice-to-haves
- 2 years of previous experience as a Buyer at a manufacturing and/or electrical company
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ISO9001:2015 or AS9100
