About the position

The Buyer at Capgemini is responsible for purchasing goods, materials, components, or services while ensuring adherence to specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. This role involves driving RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to create value in the purchasing process. The Buyer will also assess suppliers, resolve operational discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Drive RFx processes according to business needs and company policies and procedures.
  • Create value added in the purchasing process in context of savings and increasing process efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers, identifying opportunities for savings.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and delivery schedules, validating received purchase requests.
  • Ensure the right vendor selection based on existing policies and market research.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews for contract compliance.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve operational discrepancies.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects.
  • Identify potential risks and address corrective actions.
  • Work closely with peers to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and purchasing policies.

Requirements

  • Proven purchasing experience of a minimum of 3 years.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Analytical skills with strong problem-solving abilities and data management skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to support and influence stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with sourcing systems such as Ariba, iValua, SAP, Oracle, or Coupa.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced sourcing systems.
  • Familiarity with procurement best practices.
