About the position

The Buyer position at Tulsa Winch Group (TWG) is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and equipment from suppliers for all TWG brands. This role focuses on ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials to support plant operations and inventory goals. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to foster relationships, improve material quality, and reduce costs while adhering to ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate material components from manufacturing representatives based on quality, cost, service, and delivery standards.
• Seek out cost-efficient products and maintain relationships with suppliers, fostering feedback and continuous improvement.
• Generate procurement reports using MRP-II and business planning software to forecast material requirements and determine delivery dates.
• Create and review material requisitions and purchase orders to support plant operations and meet inventory goals.
• Coordinate programs to assist operations in meeting inventory objectives and ensure build schedules are met.
• Arrange transportation of purchases and expedite shipping of critically needed materials within budget.
• Provide volume forecasts to suppliers to ensure future supply needs are met and negotiate price discounts.
• Take corrective action with suppliers for defective materials and communicate with relevant personnel to control conditions of goods and services.
• Collaborate with management and plant personnel to improve material quality and reduce landed costs.
• Follow ISO procedures to prevent problems, document quality issues, and contribute to solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field.
• 5-8 years' experience in materials management, procurement, or related supply chain fields, or equivalent education and experience.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP accreditation preferred.
• Ability to travel as required.
