About the position

The Communications - Computer Systems (C-CS) Technician position at Cavalier Space Force Station involves maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems and network equipment. The role requires a combination of technical skills in electronics and computer systems, along with supervisory experience. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, manage network operations, and ensure compliance with security protocols while supporting mission-critical communication services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data processing and associated equipment.
  • Apply technical troubleshooting techniques in analog and digital electronics.
  • Utilize various types of test equipment to accomplish tasks.
  • Submit system outage reports and update Equipment Status Reports.
  • Perform computer operations, maintenance, diagnostics, and modifications to network equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve network-related trouble tickets within 24 hours.
  • Implement Information Condition procedures as directed by the Government.
  • Manage Computer Security matters and ensure training for users.
  • Correct EMSEC deficiencies within 30 days after identification.
  • Oversee network operations and assist in achieving cybersecurity compliance.
  • Coordinate network operation interruptions with on-site users.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of user problems and resolutions.
  • Evaluate new network-related requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network equipment and software.
  • Backup and restore networks in the event of failure.
  • Conduct required security reviews of all security controls.
  • Manage and track all network user accounts.

Requirements

  • Three years' experience maintaining MODCOMP, UNIX, and Windows computer systems.
  • Two years supervisory experience in computer maintenance.
  • Three years experience with PARCS, SSPARS, or similar Phased Array radar systems preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in electronics or computer repair.
  • Maintain certifications as described in DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Successful completion of IAT Level II certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge/experience of DoD Information Assurance requirements/processes preferred.
  • Completion of Honeywell Vindicator Command and Control certifications.
