About the position

The C-I Faculty Development Manager is responsible for enhancing undergraduate Communication-Intensive (C-I) teaching and learning at LSU A&M across various colleges. This role involves collaborating with academic leaders and faculty to embed C-I courses into the curriculum, providing training and support for faculty, and contributing to broader campus initiatives aimed at improving student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Academic Deans, Associate Deans, and Department Chairs to develop strategic approaches for embedding C-I Courses in undergraduate curricula.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with undergraduate teaching faculty in the Colleges of Music & Dramatic Arts, Art & Design, Mass Communication, and Business.
  • Design and deliver customized teacher training programs to support faculty in integrating C-I pedagogy into their courses.
  • Provide individual consultations on course, assignment, and assessment design for C-I teaching faculty.
  • Collaborate with the CxC/Geaux Communicate Student Services & Support Team to develop co-curricular C-I teaching resources for faculty and students.
  • Support broader campus-wide efforts to advance LSU's Quality Enhancement Plan, Geaux Communicate.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or other terminal degree (MFA, MBA, MPA, etc.) with relevant experience.
  • 3 years of demonstrated success in teaching, training, consulting, or coaching with a Ph.D.; 5 years with other terminal degrees.
  • Experience in teaching and/or training with knowledge of active learning pedagogical strategies.
  • Knowledge of multidisciplinary communication within professional and creative disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop C-I teaching content and deliver teacher training.
  • Excellent written, spoken, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, client service, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
