About the position

The Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach at C.K. McClatchy High School is responsible for supporting the head coach in developing and managing the girls wrestling program. This role involves mentoring student-athletes, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. The coach will work closely with the head coach to implement training sessions, strategies, and competitions, fostering both athletic and personal growth among the team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting wrestling practices.
  • Support the development of student-athletes in their wrestling skills and personal growth.
  • Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among team members.
  • Help organize and manage competitions and events.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.

Requirements

  • Experience in coaching or participating in wrestling at a competitive level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of wrestling techniques and strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working with high school students.
