About the position

The Product Development Engineer at Schaeffler is responsible for conducting mechanical and material design activities to develop competitive products, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. This role involves lab characterization of materials and performing tests to analyze battery structures and failures, contributing to innovative product development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical and material design activities required to develop competitive products.
  • Conduct lab characterization of materials using techniques such as scanning electron microscopy and dynamic mechanical analysis.
  • Break down battery structures into subsystems and components, creating detailed product specifications.
  • Perform E-Chem tests and post-analysis to determine the root cause of cell failures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an engineering field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of practical experience.
  • Understanding of chemistry, electro-chemistry, and laboratory work.
  • Experience in presenting engineering topics and moderating discussions.
  • Experience in solving engineering problems.
  • Clear communication ability (written & verbal).
  • Extremely self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and make recommendations and decisions.

Benefits
