About the position

The Senior Plant Financial Analyst at Schaeffler in Wooster, OH is responsible for supporting management in financial reporting and performance analysis, focusing on product costing, deviation analysis, and return on investment calculations. This role serves as a key business partner to the plant management team, overseeing month-end closing, forecasting, and budgeting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Independently drive all financials regarding the assigned production plant.
  • Prepare and develop operating budgets and financial forecasts, maintaining planning and control procedures including the cost accounting system, and analyze and report variances.
  • Conduct monthly reporting and discussions on Budget vs. Actual with Plant Management.
  • Participate actively in Plant Management meetings.
  • Maintain effective internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Act as the main contact for all financial-related topics for the plant's management structure.
  • Track action plans to improve plant performance.
  • Support with legal entity tasks that impact the plant, such as accruals, warranty claims, and project cost evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar field with a deep financial/business understanding.
  • Creative hands-on individual with excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and strong organizational skills, with the ability to be self-directed and relate effectively to all levels of an organization.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel.
