About the position

The Senior Software Engineer will play a crucial role in building and maintaining software applications and tools for the Capital Market business. This position involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, documenting application functions, and supporting QA testing. The individual will work on mission-critical projects, providing technical expertise in development environments and technology architecture, while ensuring that applications meet user specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a variety of software applications, tools, or functions for the business.
• Compile business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development.
• Document application functions and update the code repository.
• Support QA testing and implement fixes for exceptions.
• Participate in the technical design of software solutions for the Capital Market business.
• Collaborate with business users and analysts to ensure applications meet specifications and requirements.
• Interact with the larger development team to share design and solutions.
• Contribute to the overall objectives of the development team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of practical work experience involving system architecture, software application, and message and data transfer and processing.
• Proficient in C#/.Net and/or C+ with an active interest in other computing technologies and tools.
• Familiarity with Python is a plus.
• Solid knowledge in computer science and math with proficient coding skills.
• Experience in the design and implementation of data/message transfer and processing.
• Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork ethic.
• Ability to solve problems directly and independently.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar engineering field, or equivalent professional work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Python programming language.
