About the position

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking a C-Repairman-Bus to perform entry-level manual maintenance work on MTA vehicles and equipment. This role involves routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, fueling, servicing, and operating vehicles, ensuring they are safe and functional for public use. The position requires close supervision and adherence to safety and environmental practices, contributing to the overall efficiency of the MTA's operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of MTA vehicles and equipment.
• Wash interiors and exteriors of vehicles using manual and automatic equipment.
• Remove debris and perform visual inspections for personal and suspicious property left in vehicles.
• Remove graffiti from surfaces using appropriate cleaning devices.
• Check and replenish various fluids including fuels and engine oil.
• Maintain records of fluids dispensed and maintenance activities.
• Operate various types of vehicles and equipment as required for maintenance procedures.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of work areas and report any visible damages or unusual conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• One year of full-time experience in the truck, bus, or automotive trade, including changing fluids and filters, fueling, and visually inspecting vehicles.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License in the State of Maryland.
