About the position

The Infrastructure and Operations Delivery Lead at the Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for advanced computer systems analysis within the Shared Technology Services (STS) program. This role emphasizes exceptional customer support and relationship management, focusing on various services including Data Center Services, Managed Security Services, and Public Cloud Manager. The position involves directing planning, budgeting, and analysis of system requirements, while also leading teams and providing technical training to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develops agency computer operations and management information system plans and budgets.
  • Assists with developing and implementing strategic planning actions related to the agency's systems.
  • Establishes methods and procedures for work activities; identifies and resolves operational problems; conducts audits and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinates studies and prepares reports that include findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations.
  • Serves as a lead worker to TxDOT employees, providing technical training and input on career conversations.
  • Consults with districts, divisions, and other agencies regarding issues related to STS delivery.
  • Leads and participates in the planning, design, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of IT security measures.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost-effective investment in capital budgets.
  • Takes a proactive role in leading Data Center cost optimization and environmental efficiency initiatives.
  • Serves as the primary customer service contact, liaising between TxDOT and STS service providers.
  • Participates in cross-functional projects requiring coordination and scheduling during development and implementation stages.
  • Performs site visits to discuss management issues related to real property.
  • Collaborates to ensure consistent service delivery, quality standards, and ongoing process improvement.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in computer systems analysis and management.
