Helix Electric has an immediate need for a dynamic State Certified Journeyman Electrician. The successful candidate will join a production-driven team, focusing on electrical installations and troubleshooting in various commercial settings. In this role, the Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems. This includes preparing work areas for the installation of equipment, installing electrical components, and connecting wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications. The electrician will operate various tools and equipment, ensuring they are trained and certified to do so. Responsibilities also include reading blueprints and electrical drawings, verifying dimensions and alignments, and securing equipment after use. A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget is essential, along with excellent knowledge of building codes and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations and troubleshooting in commercial settings.
- Prepare work area for installation of equipment.
- Install electrical components as per specifications.
- Connect wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications.
- Operate equipment only if trained and certified to do so.
- Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings to install as specified.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans.
- Secure and lock up equipment after use.
Requirements
- State Journeyman Electrician Certification is a requirement.
- Proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
