We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Loan Officer to join our team at Mission San Jose Mortgage. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and approving or denying loan applications for individuals and businesses. As a Loan Officer, you will act as a crucial liaison between our customers and the financial institution, ensuring that qualified applicants can acquire loans in a timely and efficient manner. This position is fully remote, allowing you to choose your own hours while working from the comfort of your home. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating the creditworthiness of applicants by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits. You will conduct interviews with applicants to determine their financial eligibility and the feasibility of granting loans. Additionally, you will be responsible for determining applicable ratios and metrics, setting up debt payment plans, and communicating with clients to either request or provide necessary information. It is essential to justify your decisions regarding approvals or rejections and to report on these outcomes accurately. You will also be tasked with completing loan contracts and counseling clients on policies and restrictions. Keeping your knowledge up to date on various types of loans and financial services is crucial, as is maintaining and updating account records. Assessing customer needs, exploring all options, and introducing different types of loans will be part of your role, as well as developing referral networks and suggesting alternate channels to cross-sell products and services to meet quotas. Building trust relationships and ensuring customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process is vital. You will operate in compliance with all laws and regulations, adhering to lending compliance guidelines throughout your work.
