About the position

The Cabin Keeper/Server position at Silver Cliff Ranch is a summer role focused on providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests. The role involves various hospitality tasks, including meal preparation and service, cleaning, and customer service, ensuring a high standard of care for all visitors.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning tasks as instructed.
• Assist with the prep and serving of three meals per day.
• Provide guests with a high level of customer service.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and Dining Hall after every meal.
• Maintain facility grounds and report any maintenance hazards or issues.
• Work as a team to clean up cabins/lodges and gathering spaces after groups leave.
• Set tables and chairs in the Opera House and Dining Hall for each group prior to their arrival.
• Complete routine end of day tasks as assigned.
• Assist at the Gift Shop and/or Snack Shop as assigned.
• Offer support to groups as requested.
• Safely start, manage, and put out campfires for groups as requested.
• Execute other duties assigned by the Deputy Executive Director or Dining Services Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospitality or dining service experience preferred.
• Ability to work on a team and relate well with others.
• Self-starter and organizer.
• Ability to accept guidance, direction, and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and proper use of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards.
• Ability to provide First Aid and assist guests in emergencies once certified.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
• Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
• Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
• Effective communication skills in writing and verbally in English.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emotional control and professional composure.
• Computer literacy required to meet responsibilities of the position.
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate knowledge of Silver Cliff Ranch policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards.
