About the position

The Cable Assembler at BSU Inc. is responsible for the assembly of complex cable and wire harness assemblies, ensuring high-quality workmanship that meets industry standards and exceeds customer expectations. This role requires the ability to read and follow assembly instructions, operate various assembly equipment, and conduct tests on the finished products.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow wire harness assembly instructions/blueprints
• Cut and strip wire to specifications
• Crimp terminals to wire ends
• Install and shrink insulation sleeving
• Install cable ties
• Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout fixtures
• Operate equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters, and wire strippers
• Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using test fixtures
• Use a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products
• Work with minimal supervision from the Production Department Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Wire/Cable harness assembly experience is a must
• Familiar with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
• Minimum of 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing/assembly line
• Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings
• Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format
• Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts
• Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
