About the position

Responsible for creating fiber optic and hybrid cable assembly drawings according to the OCC design guidelines. This position involves creating detailed drawings, reviewing designs for manufacturability, and providing design input during contract reviews. The role emphasizes service excellence and quality, requiring strong communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Create cable assembly drawings using 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor)
• Identify required notes such as dimensional tolerances, label type and material, specific assembly and packaging requirements, cable pinout, detailed views, etc.
• Review design for manufacturability.
• Determine Bill of Materials.
• Create Technical Requirement Form.
• Provide design input during Contract Reviews.
• Initiate and support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Fiber optic experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Windows applications and 3D Solid Modeling software
• Attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to solve technical problems and provide solutions
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and understand product design drawings, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience using an ERP system such as Syspro preferred
