About the position

The Cable Technician role involves the installation, termination, and testing of various cabling systems to support audiovisual, security, and access control devices. The position requires hands-on work with Cat 6 and fiber optic cabling, as well as the installation of security cameras and card access systems. The ideal candidate will be dependable and eager to build a career in telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• Install AV systems including various manufacturers.
• Install security cameras and their components.
• Install card access systems and their components.
• Terminate and test cabling to support devices.
• Install Cat 6 and fiber optic cabling, including termination, testing, certification, and labeling.
• Configure and troubleshoot DVRs for camera systems.
• Install and configure card access systems, including cabling, door strikes, and mag locks.
• Install conduit as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in project management and telecommunications systems.
• Knowledge of security and audiovisual systems.
• Familiarity with access control systems.
• Experience with Cat 5 and Cat 6 cabling.
• Experience with fiber optic cable installation and termination.
• Ability to implement and manage cabling projects.
• Dependability and a desire to build a career in the field.

Nice-to-haves

• Lift certification is a plus.
