About the position

The Cable & Wire Harness Technician 2 position at Northrop Grumman involves the fabrication and assembly of complex space flight cable and harness assemblies. The role requires adherence to government specifications and workmanship standards, and is performed in a professional environment with a focus on ESD and FOD awareness. The technician will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and quality assurance representatives, while also being capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble complex space flight cable and harness assemblies from drawings, schematics, wire lists, or engineering sketches.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance Representatives, and Production Planners.
  • Report to the Manufacturing Manager and ensure compliance with government specifications and workmanship standards.
  • Maintain a professional atmosphere in an ESD and FOD awareness area.
  • Utilize common hand tools such as soldering iron, tweezers, and heat gun for assembly tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products and processing documentation.
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Creo.
  • Strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing, and assembly techniques as per IPC standards.
  • Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control.
  • NASA J-STD and/or IPC 620 certifications with Space Addendums.
