About the position

The Virtual Validation Tools Lead plays a crucial role in supporting the Feature Exploration and Vehicle Development Teams at a global automotive company. This position is responsible for preparing and running Proof of Concept (PoC) and Design Proposal review sessions, which are essential for increasing decision confidence, accelerating development pace, and reducing costs associated with travel and rapid prototyping. The Lead will also focus on continuous improvement of the validation arena experience and toolset by introducing innovative methods, hardware, and software, while aligning with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and track time and resources needed for importing, organizing, and preparing data for validation reviews.
• Import data from Catia V5 and 3DX into VR software, applying colors, materials, finishes, and shadows as required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define review goals, scope, and schedules, selecting the optimal software and methods to achieve these targets.
• Coordinate multi-site reviews, managing resources across locations in California, Japan, and beyond.
• Ensure hardware and software readiness, setting up data, options, controls, and other elements for efficient review sessions.
• Capture screenshots and videos to document results.
• Lead and operate the Experience Arena, acting as the primary designer and ensuring all software and hardware systems are functional.
• Oversee updates and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Facilitate introductions to VR headsets and controls, promoting safety and efficiency for all users.
• Conduct demos for new hires, executives, and other groups, and manage the buildout of the Experience Arena to support next-gen proof of concept testing and clinic validation.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the Experience Arena, conducting research to enhance its capabilities for future projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with digital validation tools, building simulated environments.
• Proficient in Office Suite, Catia V5, Autodesk VRED, Dassault 3DX, and Python scripting.
