About the position
GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a talented CAD Designer to join the Transportation and Infrastructure Unit, specifically within the Bridge Design group. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing on professional development and growth. The position allows for flexibility in work location, including remote and hybrid options.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Bridge Design group to create 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and Bentley software.
- Communicate effectively with the design team to ensure project requirements are met.
- Manage personal tasks and adhere to project deadlines and scope with minimal supervision.
- Perform general reviews of project work and ensure quality standards are met.
- Begin to mentor lower-level CAD Operators and provide minimal oversight as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in CAD design, particularly in transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Associate degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience in CAD design.
- Familiarity with geospatial relationships and corporate standards in CAD work.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bentley projects is required; proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is a plus.
- Very good oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in mentoring or coaching lower-level CAD staff.
- Advanced knowledge of CAD skills and self-review processes.
