About the position

The CAD Designer - Drafter position at Interstate Companies Inc. involves creating detailed truck models and layout drawings using SolidWorks CAD software. The role is integral to the engineering team, which collaborates directly with customers on product development and design. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and drawings for manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed truck models and layout drawings per customer requirements utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
• Create and maintain installation drawings utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
• Create new manufactured assemblies and drawings for fabrication.
• Perform Engineering Change Notices.
• Interact with Engineering, Technicians, Parts, and Procurement to create and maintain bills of materials in the JDE system.
• Utilize JDE to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements.
• Timely execution of responsibilities.

Requirements

• 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of drawing standards.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate proficiently and professionally.
• ERP system experience a plus, but not required.
• High School Diploma (Required).
• CAD Certificate or associate degree in engineering/Design/Drafting (Preferred).
